News: Roe Entertainment Adds Dale Ann Bradley To Roster

Music NewsBMNN wrote: Dale Ann BradleyRoe Entertainment is excited to announce exclusive booking representation of the International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) 3-time Female Vocalist Dale Ann Bradley. Hailed by Alison Krauss and Ricky Skaggs as one of the greatest vocalists in country and bluegrass music, Bradley commands a list of awards as long as Interstate 40. Her mountain soprano has been called "shimmering" (The Washington Post), "angelic" (Billboard), and "exceptional" (Bluegrass Unlimited). Bradley is nothing if not a great storyteller. But her ability to step into someone else's shoes and make their story her own for just a few minutes is what endears her so intensely to people from all walks of life. An acclaimed vocalist and songwriter and currently residing in her native state of Kentucky, Bradley fills every stage and studio with humor, grace, and integrity. Her current Compass Records release, Don't Turn Your Back is receiving rave reviews from coast to coast and has remained on the national bluegrass charts for the past 5 months.

New ReleasesBMNN wrote: Mark O'ConnorWorld-renowned acoustic musicians Mark O'Connor (violin), Chris Thile (mandolin), Frank Vignola (guitar), Bryan Sutton (guitar), Jon Burr (bass) and Byron House (bass) can captivate audiences with just their instruments. But for them, jamming is a meeting of musical minds and genres in communication, a perfect example of holistic American music. Their forthcoming CD 'Jam Session,' out April 13 on OMAC Records, offers "dazzling" (Wall Street Journal) live acoustic recordings that combine bluegrass and gypsy jazz as never before on disc.

Review: Josh Williams 'Down Home' - A Review

New ReleasesSRBullins wrote: Josh Williams: Down HomeI first saw and heard Josh Williams perform as a relatively new band member of Rhonda Vincent and the Rage in the spring of 2004, at a small theatre venue, The Carroll County High School Auditorium, in Hillsville, Virginia. I had been a fan of Audie Blaylock, and went to the show somewhat distressed that Rhonda had fired Audie to hire this new young guitar player. I can't remember if I was more impressed initially by his guitar playing, his vocals or the magic he made when he took the mandolin from Rhonda. By the end of the show, however, I was definitely a Josh Williams fan, and remain a fan today.

Announcement: More Artist Lineup Additions for Pagosa Folk 'N Bluegrass

Event NewsBMNN wrote: Folk N BluegrassPagosa Springs, CO -- New Pagosa Folk 'N Bluegrass lineup additions include Darol Anger and the Republic of Strings plus The Belleville Outfit. Somewhere beyond or behind all musical borders lies a creative terrain where bluegrass, jazz, classical, pop, and various world musics mingle, played by musicians who care more for inspiration than they do for genre. If that place has a name, it's surely the Republic of Strings, for no one knows its contours better than veterans Darol Anger, cellist Mike Block, five-string violinist Lauren Rioux and guitarist Scott Law. They have created the visionary musical landscape of the Republic, exemplified by their two recordings, Republic Of Strings and Generation Nation, for Compass Records. The Republic will play Sunday, June 6 at 4:30 PM.
