From the Adcocks - The Christmas season is about to open with a bang -- or rather, with a big acoustic power chord. Here comes the 6th Annual Christmas Bluegrass Benefit Concert for the Homeless! Held annually on the first Sunday in December at the Station Inn in Nashville, this year’s event is scheduled for December 4th. The fun begins at 7 p.m. and will run until 11 or 12. Always featuring a roster of renowned artists eager to donate their time and talent, the event certainly will not disappoint this year.
New to the show this go-round will be Thom Bresh, son of famed guitarist Merle Travis, and songbird Valerie Smith. Gene Johnson of Diamond Rio is on the slate, as are the Larry Stephenson Band, Kentucky tenor Don Rigsby, Tim Graves & Cherokee, Jimmy Bowen & Santa Fe, bassist Missy Raines, and Eddie & Martha Adcock, with more artists to be confirmed, plus special surprise guests as well. The event is hosted annually by Eddie and Martha Adcock, Donna Sonner, and Gene and June Johnson for the benefit of the homeless men, women and families of Nashville who are assisted through the Room In The Inn program of the Campus For Human Development. As usual, we’re asking folks to bring the hotel soaps and shampoos that they’ve saved throughout the year, along with the toothpaste, lotion, combs, socks and new underwear that will be distributed through Room In The Inn and will be so appreciated by those in need.
