News: BlueHighways To Add Rare Historical Roots Music Video Footage

Music Newsdenise wrote: on Nov. 10, 2007:
Hendersonville, TN -- Network Creative Group, LLC, the parent company of BlueHighways TV, today announced it has completed the purchase of the Americana Television Network assets, including the programming library and trademark, from Inspirational Media Properties. The programming library consists of a number of original roots music entertainment series in cluding the nationally nominated bluegrass series, Reno's Old Time Music Festival, documentary features about American culture and pastimes, as well as a unique collection of historic music videos from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Tune into www.bluehighwaystv.com to watch streaming video of network, worldwide.

"The Americana library increases by several thousand hours the programming content that BlueHighways TV will make available to its viewers, and it opens the door for Network Creative Group to branch into other formats of distribution," said BlueHighways TV Chairman and CEO Stan Hitchcock. "The BlueHighways team originally helped to create this evergreen programming for Americana Television Network, and so we are uniquely familiar with the value this footage holds and how we can refresh it for future generations to enjoy. The roots music and back roads travel offerings fit perfectly with our BlueHighways TV theme." Hitchcock served as Chairman and CEO of Americana Television Network until December 1994, when the network was sold to Liberty Media.

Among the Americana library's programming treasurers is Reno's Old Time Music Festival, a 30-minute program hosted by Ronnie Reno, BlueHighways TV's co-founder and Vice President of Entertainment Industry Relations. The series celebrates the rebirth of bluegrass music with riveting live acoustic performances by a number of bluegrass legends, including Mac Wiseman, The Osborne Brothers, John Hartford, Charlie Waller, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Doyle Lawson and many more. Reno continues to produce the series, which was nominated for a CableACE award in 1994 for Best Musical Series, with new episodes aired on BlueHighways TV.

About BlueHighways TV
BlueHighways TV is a satellite, cable and broadband delivered television network that grew out of the great interest that audiences have in exploring and re-freshening the folklore, music, traditions, destinations, festivals and artistry of America. Conceived and created by Network Creative Group, LLC, BlueHighways TV captures that welcoming, down-home spirit that Americans are known for – and are increasingly seeking on television -- delivered with an interesting, honest and exploratory voice. BlueHighways also takes its musical offerings on the road under performing arrangements with The Mansion in Branson, MO and The American Jukebox Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN. The network has developed a number of innovative ways to work with satellite distributors and cable operators to reach and serve their local audiences, and BlueHighways TV is currently in active negotiations to expand its carriage. For more information, visit BlueHighways TV's website at www.bluehighwaystv.com.
