Announcement: Rudy Rudy RudyFest is June 25-27 in Grayson, KY

Event NewsBMNN wrote: on May 29, 2009:
The 9th annual RudyFest Bluegrass Music Festival is scheduled to take place this year from June 25-27 at the Carter County Fairgrounds on US 60 in Grayson, Kentucky. This is one of the premier bluegrass music festivals in the world with performances by some of the biggest acts in the business and accented with groups from the local area. This year's lineup has been announced and its going to be another great show.

There are so many wonderful bands to talk about, but Rudy Fest 2009 as usual is loaded with on of the best lineups in bluegrass music this year. Rudy Festers will be thrilled to hear that the Dan Tyminski Band is booked for 2009! The Rudy Fest has become a homecoming for such groups as New Found Road, Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time, The Lonesome River Band, Marty Raybon, IIIrd Tyme Out and of course the Rudy Fest is not complete without Ernie Thacker & Route 23! There are others too so if you are in the area, you'll want to take in RudyFest 2009.

Here is a sampling of the performers you'll hear on the stage.

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out
Established in 1991 they have a brand new record label, Rural Rhythm. Russell Moore is THE VOICE, with string of awards voted on by peers and fans alike! Greatness abounds in 3TO on and off the stage. Fantastic harmonies have award 3TO with seven Vocal Group Of The Year Awards from IBMA, and they are always have a dog in the race each year! Quincy, Kentucky is home to their sound tech, Donnie Carver, so welcome home Donnie.

Lonesome River Band
Carrying The Tradition was release in 1991 and from that point on there was a new sound taking the bluegrass world by strom. The Lonesome River Band celebrated it's 25th Anniversary in 2007 and these days headed up by Sammy Shelor four time IBMA Banjo Player of the Year. A crowd favorite everywhere but to Rudy Festerians the LRB rocks Carter County annually at the Rudy Fest.

Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time
The Mighty Cord is Rudy Fest favorite and brings with him his bona fide "hoss cat" band to the Rudy Fest. "Cord" as folks sometimes calls him is one of greatest songwriters on the planet with folks like Garth Brooks, Ricky Skaggs, Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, George Straight and many others recording songs he's penned and sold to the tund of over 50 million records...not bad for a country boy from Blaine, Kentucky. Come and enjoy Larry's eastern Kentucky singin' and song writin'.

The Grascals
Earning the 2006 and 2007 Entertainers of the Year is a testament to their talents since they have only been on the national stage as the Grascals since 2005. Appearing on countless records and shows by so may artists from Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton, to the Osborne Brothers, these Grascals have a 'been there" and done that for others and now they are doing it on their own. Come to the Rudy Fest and see it for yourself.

The Dan Tyminski Band
The Dan Band not only is loaded for bluegrass, it's the got a major hit hit CD with Wheels. Adam Steffy, Barry Bales, Ron Stewart and Justin Moses makes up the "Dan Band" headed up the voice the world thought was George Clooney singing Man Of Constant Sorrow, but it was Mr. T himself, er, Mr. Dan Tyminski...who's been to Carter Couny before with the Lonesome River Band!

Marty Raybon
One of the greatest voices in country music got his start playing bluegrass in Florida, well, HE'S BACK playing bluegrass and the voice is as good as it was during singing lead for the band Shenandoah. Marty Raybon knows how to entertain is a 100% people person who is often sitting with fans watching the other performances.
