Announcement: Central Canadian Bluegrass Awards & Fan Fest

Event Newsspeedster wrote: on Oct. 09, 2009:
Well it's that time of the year again, a few short weeks after the excitement and energy of the IBMA has started to settle down, a scaled down version of a similar event takes place each year up here in Canada. This year is no exception and the start of this annual Canadian Bluegrass Event was kicked off just a week or so prior to the IBMA with the mailing out of the nomination submission forms to the Central Canadian Bluegrass clubs and various Bluegrass Bands for nominations in the many different categories.

This will be followed by the mailing of ballots to all the members of the clubs, fans, band members and fans in Central Canada that are on the voters lists.

As has been the case for many years now the event takes place at the 5 star Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville Ontario with all its top notch facilities. This event dates are November 20, 21 & 22 and this years USA bands are Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike and The Gibson Brothers. As always there will be a large lineup of top notch Central Canadian Bands such as Traditionally Wound, Hard Ryde, Fox Tail as an example.

Tony de Boer and his large contingent of volunteers will work tirelessly to ensure the event is high class and enjoyed by everyone and in their usual manner they provide room for all the new bands and established bands to get a chance to grace the stage to showcase their talents in front of the large crowds and promoters who attend.

Along with all the music going on the Awards Show is the main event where the Bands & Musicians are recognized for their talents and contributions to Canadian Bluegrass each year. As someone who has attended the IBMA for years along with this event I can say that Canada isn't take a back seat to anyone with this event.

I'll follow up with another newletter when the nominee's are announced and will follow that with a report on the Award Winners after the event is over later in November.
