"We are especially indebted to the fine managers immediately previous to us, Billy and Faye Johnson. Faye worked tirelessly through the transition and has played an important role in the operation of each festival event up to and including the May Festival of this year. Words cannot express our appreciation for her work, dedication, support and advice, all of which came from a caring heart of one of the best friends anyone could ever want."

The Masters' don't want to see their efforts fade away and noted, "If, by chance, a successor is eventually found, we will offer our assistance and make every effort to notify you of any revival of the festival. In the meantime, we wish you the very best and hope to see you at other bluegrass events from time to time as time permits."

It is always sad to see a popular festival come to an end. It is hoped that a successor can take over the festival and keep it alive as one of bluegrass music's festival traditions.
