Announcement: The Weekend For Jim - A Benefit for Bassist Jim Chatfield

Event NewsBMNN wrote: on Nov. 05, 2009:
Recently Miami Valley Musician, Gentleman Jim Chatfield (Bassist for Shadez of Blue Bluegrass Band, and internet I-DJ for WorldWideBluegrass.com suffered a heart attack, leading to a QUAD By-Pass. Old National Bluegrass and www.WorldWideBluegrass.com are throwing a benefit the weekend of 21 and 22 NOV 2009 to offset medical expenses as well as work loss. 15 Bands will be performing this weekend beginning in Wilder, KY at Bobby Macky's Music World (home of the Haunted Nightclub as seen on Paranormal TV etc...) and finishing up at The Freedom Worship Center in Franklin, Ohio.

The Highlight of the weekend will include a Guiness Book of World Records attempt at the LONGEST Banjo Playing by an individual! Johnny Butten is currently one of the FASTEST Banjo Players in the Guiness Book! He will be playing constantly throught the weekend at both venues! We are motorhoming him between venues as to not disturb his attempt at achieving this feat! Newsworthy? I hope so for us as well as your readers and listeners!

Sat. Nov. 21, 2 - 8 p.m., Bobby Mackey’s Music World, 44 Licking Pike, Wilder, KY, 41071

Bands (subject to change):

  • Poaceous
  • Ruby an Em
  • Blue Maggie
  • Hurley Ridge
  • Lori Lyn and New Outlook
  • Shadez of Blue
  • Jetts Creek
  • Blue Storm

Sun. Nov. 22, 2 - 9 p.m., The Freedom Worship Center, 90 Deardoff, Franklin, OH

Bands (subject to change):

  • Johnny Butten
  • BrinkSongs
  • Evan Lanier and the Bluegrass Express
  • Lonesome Meadow
  • Blue & Lonesome
  • McCoy Grass
  • Jetts Creek
  • Blue Storm

See Johnny Butten set another Guinness World Banjo Record for longest continuous playing of the banjo! Johnny is already a Guiness record holder for Fastest Banjo Player in the World. He will start at Bobby Mackey’s on Saturday and motorhome to Franklin, OH to finish his venture!

Suggested Donation: $10.00 per venue
