Announcement: Bristol Rhythm and Roots Planning 10th Anniversary Festival

Event NewsBMNN wrote: on Nov. 06, 2009:
Rhythm and Roots ReunionBristol, TN/VA -- The Bristol Rhythm & Roots festival folks are in the very early planning process for their 10th annual anniversary and they are in the thick of making sure it is something special. The dates for the 2010 event will be September 17-19 and it is never too early to make your plans to attend.

The Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion board of directors has announced ticket pricing for the 10th annual festival, to be held Sept. 17-19, 2010. Weekend passes will be $35 until June 30, 2010, and $40 beginning July 1, 2010. Single-day passes will be $20 for Friday, $30 for Saturday, and $15 for Sunday. To purchase your tickets now click here.

"Our goal is to keep our ticket prices affordable for everyone," says Bristol Rhythm & Roots Executive Director Leah Ross. "These weekend pass rates allow festival-goers to enjoy more than 100 performances and receive entertainment valued at far more than the face value of the ticket."

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the festival, those who purchase a weekend pass will receive a coupon for a limited-edition anniversary poster that features the nine previous festival designs, and the 10th annual poster. This poster will not be available for individual purchase and is offered only to those who purchase a weekend pass.

The 10th annual festival poster is being designed by local artist, Charles Vess. It is sure to become another highly sought after poster. Vess was the designer of the 6th annual poster that has proven to be one of the most popular. However, both it and the 1st annual festival poster are no longer available. Both the 10th annual and 10th anniversary poster will be unveiled in early 2010.

The Infamous Stringdusters to Close out Fall Concert Series

The Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion Concert Series is thrilled to host bluegrass phenoms The Infamous Stringdusters at The Goodloe Center at Mountain Empire Community Center in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, on Thursday, December 3rd. The Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion is honored to present The Infamous Stringdusters in conjunction with Alpha Natural Resources and Pro Art. Tickets are available at www.bristolrhythm.com or by contacting the Work Force Development Office in the Phillips-Taylor Building at MECC at 276.523.7464.

The Infamous Stringdusters burst on to the bluegrass scene in 2006, riding a wildfire of grassroots support before their 2007 release, Fork In The Road, garnered the group three IBMA awards and established them as the hottest young bluegrass band in the land. Since then, the band has become a regular fixture on the festival circuit - including two well received appearances at the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion - and are now touring both nationally and internationally. Known for their tight licks and superior songwriting, The Infamous Stringdusters are redefining bluegrass music for a whole new generation of fans while remaining true to the roots of the genre so deeply set by folks like Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley.

Performing in support of The Infamous Stringdusters will be The Mountain Music School Kids, a quartet of young students from Mountain Empire Community College's annual Mountain Music School. Lauded for its dedication to preserving the rich musical heritage of the Appalachians, the Mountain Music School provides musically inclined students of the Mountain Empire the opportunity to learn, and carry on, the beloved sound of these mountains.
