Nashville, TN -- Award-winning country recording artist, guitarist, songwriter and producer Steve Wariner will be a guest on A Prairie Home Companion this Saturday, November 21, as it airs live from the historic State Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at 5 p.m. CST. The beloved show is heard by more than 4 million listeners each week on some 600 public radio stations, and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East.

Wariner will feature songs from his new release, Steve Wariner, c.g.p., My Tribute to Chet Atkins. Produced by Wariner, the collection of 11 songs honors the legendary guitarist and producer who was also his friend, mentor, producer and former employer. The album is available on Wariner's own SelecTone Records, distributed by Allegro Media Group.

"Garrison Keillor loved both Chet and Leona so much, and Chet was a guest on the show several times," said Wariner. "It seems natural to go up there and do some of the music from this album, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. I'll be playing some of the guitars Chet gave me."

During his career Steve Wariner has charted over 30 top-10 singles, including 14 #1's—songs like "The Weekend," "Small Town Girl," "Some Fools Never Learn," "Tips of My Fingers" and "Where Did I Go Wrong." He has won 3 Grammy Awards-- in 1992 for Best Country Vocal Collaboration; and in 2000 and 2009 for Best Country Instrumental. In 1998 he won the Country Music Association's Single and Song of the Year awards for his #1 hit, "Holes in the Floor of Heaven," which was also the Academy of Country Music's Song of the Year in 1999. He joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1996. In 2002 he started his own label, SelecTone Records.

Wariner's formidable songwriting skills have earned him 16 BMI Country Awards and 11 BMI Million-Air Awards (for songs receiving over one million on-air plays).
