Announcement: Infamous Stringdusters Wrap Up Nor'Easter Tour 09

Music NewsBMNN wrote: on Nov. 24, 2009:
Stringdusters Nor'Easter Tour 09As tours go, this has been a really good one. Highlights: 8x10 in Baltimore, Iota in Arlington, Brooklyn, a ridiculous second set in East Hartford, opening for Del McCoury at the Egg in Albany, 5 sold out shows and this last week with Sara Watkins. I must say, it was a perfect pairing; each night was better then the last. We've had a lot of kick ass nights on this one, I hope you made it out; thank you to those who did. If not, we'll be coming your way soon (unless you're in Hawaii, we won't be playing there any time soon) so keep your eyes open.

It's always about the weather. Every one of these things starts out with a rundown of the meteorological events of the past month or the conditions at my location at the time of writing. This month is no exception. It's not entirely my fault; the tour is called the Nor'easter Tour. For those of you who don't know, a Nor'Easter is a weather event that exerts itself on the North East several times every year wherein the weather comes from the Southwest and, most people would agree, is lousy.

I learned a long time ago, as a ski bum in Durango, CO, that the relative goodness or badness of weather depends entirely on where you're standing, what you're wearing and what you intend to do that day and as such, I wouldn't categorically declare a Nor'Easter to be "bad" weather, but it's weather, none-the-less. We named this tour the Nor'Easter Tour because we were headed to the North East and planned to rile things up a little. A hurricane influenced Nor'Easter caught up with us last week but otherwise the weather has been great, how is it where you're sitting?
