Announcement: Trey Hensley and Driving Force Play Driving Bluegrass at the Fold Dec 12

Event NewsBMNN wrote: on Nov. 26, 2009:
Trey HensleyTrey Hensley has been performing since age 7. He's now well on his way to a career in bluegrass and country music. From Teleford, Tennessee, Trey recently graduated from the David Crockett High School. Like many bluegrass and old time musicians, he began singing in church. Trey started taking guitar lessons at age 10. Since that time he has been on stage with Marty Stuart, Ricky Skaggs, Earl Scruggs, Raymond Fairchild, and J.D. Crowe. He now has five CDs to his credit. Trey will be backed up by some of the finest musicians in the region - Jerry & Susie Keys, Jason Crawford, and Keith Williams. Saturday, December 12th, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. the Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a concert of bluegrass music by Trey Hensley & Drivin' Force. Admission to the concert is $7 for adults, $1 for children 6 to 11, under age 6 free.

Despite his young age, Trey has already forged his own style. His talent and stage presence are indicative of a performer far beyond his 18 years. When he plays guitar, it's obvious he was influenced by Roy Nichols, James Burton, Doc Watson, Tony Rice, Marty Stuart, and Buck Owens. Trey has picked with Tom T. Hall, the Oak Ridge Boys, Steve Wariner, Charlie Daniels, and Ricky Skaggs. He first stepped into the Grand Ole Opry spotlight in 2002 at the age of 11 not long after he first performed at the Carter Family Fold.

Trey's first country CD - Looking at my Future - featured five songs written or co-written by him. A second country CD - It is What it Is - was recently released. Trey's talent and humility are amazing. You won't hear better guitar picking anywhere, and his vocals are every bit as exceptional as his playing. If you aren't a fan of Trey's already, you will be when you hear him.

For a night of some of the best bluegrass music you can imagine, don't miss Trey Hensley and Drivin' Force at the Carter Family Fold! If you need more information on Trey, go to his web site at TreyHensley.com.
