News: Dailey and Vincent Celebrate the Christmas Season

Music NewsBMNN wrote: on Dec. 05, 2009:
Dailey and VincentNashville, TN -- As the year draws to a close and the holidays quickly approach, award-winning Rounder Records duo Dailey & Vincent find themselves in the Christmas spirit. IBMA Entertainers of the Year, Dailey & Vincent, lead Gainesboro Christmas Parade and a scheduled Opry performance at the Ryman Auditorium on December 25 and 26.

On Monday, December 7, at 6:00 p.m. Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent will return for the second year as marshals of the annual Christmas parade in Jamie's hometown of Gainesboro, Tennessee. Hosted by the Gainesboro-Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, the parade's theme this year is "Trees, Trails, and Traditions." The parade will celebrate the region's culture and the new initiatives that are being extended in Jackson County to bring attention to the Civil War and Quilt Trails, along with other historical trails and landmarks.

Dailey & Vincent will also perform at the Opry at the Ryman on Christmas night, December 25, and December 26.

Dailey & Vincent are the reigning International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainers of the Year, taking home the top award for the second year in a row, along with Vocal Group of the Year and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year. Their Brothers From Different Mothers album, released in the spring, debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Bluegrass Albums chart and spent 12 weeks in the top 5. It was #1 for two consecutive months (October and November) on the Bluegrass Unlimited National Survey album chart, while lead track "Head Hung Down" topped the Bluegrass Unlimited song chart for November.

In October Dailey & Vincent released their first gospel album, a collection of a cappella songs called Singing From the Heart. The project began in 2001, long before Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent began their career as a duo. It was a labor of love, an album of a cappella spiritual songs honoring the Church of Christ's practice of singing without instruments and benefitting the Tennessee Bible College in Cookeville, Tennessee, which is a Church of Christ institution.

Dailey & Vincent have played over 130 dates this year. For a tour schedule and other updates, please visit www.DaileyVincent.com.
