Since January 2009 international and local artists from genres like Alternative Folk, Alternative Country, Americana, Bluegrass and Singer – Songwriter are fascinating a constantly growing audience (www.songsandwhisper.com).

After playing successful concerts in hostels in bremen during the regular circuits, “Songs & Whispers” is now starting a new tour concept named “Looking for Shelter”. Two artists are playing in different hostels all over Germany. They are playing mostly acoustic and do not need a lot of equipment to play concerts in breakfast or meeting rooms of hostels.
The artists presented are Kid Decker (Hamburg & UK) and Astrid’s Farm (Hamburg). Both musicians are playing calm singer-songwriter music, which fits the relaxing atmosphere of most hostels.

Dates:

27.11.09, 8 pm – Hamburg: Backpackers St. Pauli, Bernstorffstraße 98
28.11.09, 8 pm – Köln: Hostel Am Rheinauhafen, Rheingasse 34-36
29.11.09, 8 pm – Köln: Black Sheep Hostel, Barbarossaplatz 1
30.11.09, 8 pm – Dortmund: Embedo Hostel, Lindemannstr. 78
01.12.09, 8 pm – Schwerin: „Heintzes Töchter“, Werderstraße 49
02.12.09, 8 pm – Wernigerode: Harz Hostel, Schmatzfelder Straße. 50-52
04.12.09, 8 pm – Hamburg: Superbude, Spaldingstraße 152

Background information:

Kid Decker (UK & Hamburg)
Craig Saunders alias Kid Decker is originally from Southwest-England but currently living in Germany. After having a band project in South Africa he moved to Berlin and finally to Hamburg as he found his new musical home here. His song writing is virtuos and marked with interesting rhythms. Overall floats his clear touching voice.

ASTRIDS FARM (Hamburg)
This band from Hamburg plays Folk-Pop influenced by the sound of the 60ies. During the tour their songs are performed solo and acoustic by their front man Thomas Lebioda. Their music is influenced by the likes of Paul McCartney or Brian Wilson; this becomes obvious on thei debut album “Cyclist” from 2008.
