 New Release: Blackjack Ridge-New Album

New ReleasesBlackjackRidge wrote: on Aug. 23, 2007:
Wound-Tite Management, in cooperation with “Blackjack Ridge” announced that beginning on August 13th, 2007 Blackjack Ridge went into Beaverwood studio in Hendersonville, Tennessee and began work on their newest album. The tracking has been done, and the overdubs, and vocals are scheduled to be completed on August 23rd. One track has been placed on the band’s music page, located at Blackjack Ridge and the band invites people to visit there and give it a listen.

What do you get when you cross four extremely dedicated musicians, and the inherent desire to succeed? Blackjack Ridge A diverse yet tradition steeped band with plenty of attitude! The band is quickly becoming a favorite throughout the Southeast. A new self titled cd is to be released on or about the 1st of September. This group will be a force to be reckoned with by the end of 2007!

Christi Cato has been active in Bluegrass music for over 7 years. Starting as a vocalist, and mandolin player for Rose Ridge Girls, she later left to perform briefly with Johnny Daniels. Christi s natural bluegrass voice made her a hands down choice for Blackjack Ridge. Christi makes her home in Springfield Tennessee.

Steve Mofield played in numerous rock and country bands until he becam e interested in bluegrass. Since then he has never looked back. He has since played guitar or mandolin with several regional bands such as Ever Since Now, The Blistered Lizerds and Now and Then. Steve Makes his home in White House Tennessee.

Ed Stacey is a hard driving banjo player who seems to have a way with mixing melodics, with good old fashioned Scruggs style banjo. Ed has played for groups such as Union Standard, Joe Diffie and Special Edition , Bill Grant/Delhia Bell, and others. Ed Makes his home in LaVergne Tennessee.

Bill ScottBill began playing music at 12 years old. He has performed blues, rock, country, and top-forty music, as well as studying classical and jazz. Bill has been active in bluegrass since 2002. He has played mandolin for Flattwound, Sally Mander & The Blisterd Lizerds, among others.

Blackjack Ridge promises to be a unique twist in a time tested music. The band integrates songs into their repertoire that wouldn t normally be associated with bluegrass. But this band sure makes it work! Blackjack Ridge performs regularly at The Grand Ole Garage in Madison Tennessee, and is already quickly booking festivals for 2007, and 2008!
