From the country field the subjects include Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Porter Wagoner, Gene Autry, Merle Travis and Connie Smith (now Marty’s wife). While most of the book is in black & white, there are plenty of lovely color shots and spreads that depict old show posters, fancy stage costumes, instruments, album covers, and many country stars.

This is not just another book of photographs, and to call it a "coffee table" volume would almost be an insult. It’s a remarkable work, done with love and good taste, and should warm the heart of anyone who grew up on country and Bluegrass music. It will make a wonderful gift! (Weighs 5 or 6 pounds!)
