World-renowned acoustic musicians Mark O'Connor (violin), Chris Thile (mandolin), Frank Vignola (guitar), Bryan Sutton (guitar), Jon Burr (bass) and Byron House (bass) can captivate audiences with just their instruments. But for them, jamming is a meeting of musical minds and genres in communication, a perfect example of holistic American music. Their forthcoming CD 'Jam Session,' out April 13 on OMAC Records, offers "dazzling" (Wall Street Journal) live acoustic recordings that combine bluegrass and gypsy jazz as never before on disc.
Nashville, TN -- Becky Schlegel's newest CD, Dandelion (Lilly Ray/IGO Records), is a live-sounding record that is rich with natural nuance, poetic imaginings and magical tone. Co-produced by Schlegel and Brian Fesler and recorded in Minnesota, the project drops April 6, 2010. "We took a more relaxed, spontaneous approach on DANDELION," says Becky, a new Nashville resident. "We let the songs be free to end up where they were destined to be.”
The Del McCoury Band has some good news for you. For the month of February, their latest release, Family Circle is available for download for only $5. The album was chosen by the editors of Amazon for a special promotion called 50 albums for $5. McCoury Music thought they would give you a choice of where to shop, so they also lowered the price in their own store on the web.
Michael Martin Murphey and his Buckaroo Blue Grass friends ride again on the February 9, 2010 album release of Buckaroo Blue Grass II. The album expands on his passions of his Grammy nominated album, Buckaroo Blue Grass" creating fully acoustic bluegrass versions of songs about the region to which Murphey has been deeply connected for a lifetime -- the American Southwest.

Written by Tom T & Dixie Hall along with Don Rigsby, the song pay tribute to Lester, Earl, Ralph, Carter, Bill and all the other Boys In Hats and Ties who laid the foundation for the music we all love so well.
Sugar Hill Records is proud to announce the upcoming release of Feast of the Hunters' Moon, the debut album from Portland, Oregon-based Black Prairie. The self-titled CD, produced by Nashville veteran Jerry Salley features 12 tracks showcasing this rising duo of beautiful young newlyweds singing and playing a rich combination of bluegrass and bluegrass gospel music.
Kathy Boyd and Phoenix Rising want to let you know that they have completed the recording process for the new gospel CD. The group is hoping to have the final touches on the mastering, CD cover, etc completed and have the project off to the reproduction plant by mid-February. If all goes according to schedule, the band will have the new CD ready to debut at the Oregon Bluegrass Association's Willamette Valley Gospel Show on March 27th!
