After a successful event in 2009, Jay Armsworthy has decided to do it again! It's the 2nd Annual Bluegrass For Hospice 1 day music event to raise money for the Hospice House in St. Mary's County located in Callaway, Maryland. Presented and coordinated by Jay Armsworthy, the Bluegrass For Hospice will once again be held at the Flat Iron Farm on Flat Iron Road in Great Mills, Maryland with many local Bluegrass bands providing entertainment beginning at Noon. The event will be held on Saturday October 23, 2010.
It's that time again - Labor Day Weekend, a last holiday hoorah for the summer - and also the final Shindig on the Green for 2010! It's the last chance this summer to win one of the raffle items this year (see article below). Last chance to dance and enjoy the music on stage. Last chance to bring your instrument and jam with the many other musicians that come to gather in their own groups to make music.

Bands with the ETSU Bluegrass and Country Music Program have performed at the Fold since the beginning of the program at ETSU in 1982. Daniel Boner and Roy Andrade now serve as the program's directors. The ETSU program has grown so popular that students travel from all over the world to study there. There are now nearly twenty different bands maintained by the program. ETSU's bands have performed in Japan, Belgium, and Russia. Some of the finest students the Bluegrass and Country Music Program has to offer will be performing with the ETSU Bluegrass Band. Daniel Boner will be heading up the group. The Carter Family Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, will present a concert by the ETSU Bluegrass Band Saturday, September 18th, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is $7 for adults, $1 for children 6 to 11, under age 6 free.
The International Bluegrass Music Museum (IBMM) be opening their Bill Monroe Centennial Exhibit on September 10, 2010, as part of the worldwide Bill Monroe Centennial Celebration. This event takes place just three days prior to what would have been Big Mon's 99th birthday. This is the second of three exhibits for the Bill Monroe Centennial Celebration.
Nashville, TN -- After a year that has presented multiple challenges and changes to the highly regarded 
Steve Wallach announced that this will be the Grand Finale of the ETA Bluegrass Cruise this year. He wrote, "ETA has had a tremendous run for 13 glorious years bringing fans the best in Bluegrass Music on the High Seas. ETA continues with our tradition and look forward to so many of you joining us for this final bluegrass cruise. We have decided to take a break while we're on a high rather than let things get low."
Greensky Bluegrass, the winners of the 2006 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, will be performing with Grateful Dead Drummers Billy Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart. The band has also announced their New Year's Eve run in the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado. Many progressive bluegrass bands make Denver their choice for New Year's performances.

Bluegrass singer songwriter Donna Ulisse & The Poor Mountain Boys are heading back to her home state of Virginia this weekend with performances in Lebanon and Yorktown, Virginia. Friday night, August 27, 2010 will find them in the "heart of southwestern Virginia" at the Lebanon Old Mill which is a local restaurant in Lebanon, Virginia that has recently added live music with an emphasis on bluegrass to their fare. Richmond, VA – Award Winning Bluegrass Artist Michelle Nixon will be performing with her band "Drive" at St John's United Church of Christ in Richmond, VA for their very first Bluegrass and BBQ fundraiser on Sept 11, 2010. Michelle Nixon is a two time recipient of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Recording Event of the Year Award for her work on the Daughter's of Bluegrass albums as well as a former Female Vocalist of The Year (Traditional) Award recipient from SPBGMA, the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America.
