Santa Cruz, CA -- California's indie Celtic band Molly's Revenge releases their new CD The Western Shore featuring award winning vocalist Moira Smiley. The release date is set for Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Molly's Revenge is a dynamic, acoustic Celtic band known for its unique and infectious on-stage enthusiasm. The band joins forces with vocalist and accordionist Moira Smiley on The Western Shore. Nationally regarded for her work with the contemporary vocal group VOCO, Moira won the Western USA Division of All-Ireland Singing Championship.
The Western Shore is the band's seventh full-length recording, and was produced by John Doyle, a founding member of the Irish super group Solas. Doyle also performs on the album along with percussionist Fraser Stone (Old Blind Dogs). Shay Black (The Black Family) wrote, "Molly's Revenge have produced an album that is a total joy. The tunes and songs are exciting and incendiary, yet still possess a softness of tone that leaves one breathless." Their artistic arrangements of traditional Celtic jigs and reels bring these dance tunes up to date with a driving, hard-edged accent that guarantees to satisfy all fans of Scottish and Irish music. Their fan base has generously proven this point by helping the band to raise nearly $8,000.00 for the latest release. As one of many independent bands trying to survive in the current music climate, Molly's Revenge is proud and grateful for the loyalty and support of their beloved fans.
Molly's Revenge has performed at many of the top folk festivals and performing arts events across the U.S., as well as in Australia and China. The band will continue their national touring schedule to promote The Western Shore, and Moira Smiley will also appear for select shows throughout the U.S. Be sure to catch this Celtic fire when it roars through your area.
The Western Shore will be available at retail stores nationwide through Burnside Distribution Corporation, and is available digitally at CD Baby, iTunes, Yahoo Music, Best Buy, Rhapsody, and MSN Music.
