Grassroots Rambos Captures Dove Awards Bluegrass Album of the Year

43rd Dove AwardsThe 43rd Annual Dove Awards has come to an end with a roster of new award winners. The Awards were held at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta on April 19th. The Dove Awards Bluegrass Album of the Year went to Grassroots Rambos by Rambo McGuire and Dony McGuire on Rambo McGuire Records.

Grassroots Rambos is the first in a series "Remembering The Rambos" by Dony, Reba, Destiny and Israel with special guest, Buck Rambo, and celebrates the early mountain style of The Rambos and the timeless songs of Dottie Rambo.

Almost four years after her home-going, Dottie Rambo was also been honored with a trophy for the Dove Award for Bluegrass Recorded Song Of The Year for her composition "Mama's Teaching Angels How To Sing" as recorded by The Isaacs on their project Naturally.

The Dove Award for Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year was awarded for "Mama's Teaching Angels How to Sing", Naturally The Isaacs, Dottie Rambo, Gaither Music Group.

Jason Crabb captured Male Vocalist of the Year and Artist of the Year while Natalie Grant took hom the Female vocalist of the Year honors.

Awards of interest to our readers include Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for "Celebrate Me Home" on Blue Skies Coming by Perrys. Country Recorded Song of the Year was awarded for "Good Things Are Happening" on Reach Out by Karen Peck & New River who also captured the Southern Gospel Album of the Year. Surprises were in the wake as for the fifth time, Natalie Grant received the prestigious Female Vocalist of the Year award from Dove voters. The song "Your Great Name", from Natalie's CD Love Revolution won Worship Song of the Year.

Jamie-Grace was awarded the New Artist of the Year. She is a college student and suffers from Tourette's Syndrome.

The evening was full of entertaining performances as well and the 43rd Annual Dove Awards will be broadcast on GMC Tuesday, April 24t5h at 8 PM for a special encore presentation.
