Summergrass 2012San Diego, CA -- Summergrass San Diego is now going into its tenth season. Wow.. What a wonderful time we've had. Currently, we are gearing up for another fantastic festival. So, mark you calendar for this premier happening in San Diego County, August 17-19, 2012 at the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum in Vista, CA. Summergrass is a little over a month and a half away. Picture yourself in the crowd watching the show. Chris Henry & Hardcore Grass has joined the lineup and the Kids Camp is ready to go.

2012 Lineup Featuring: Blue Highway, the Lonesome River Band, Flatt Lonesome, The Tuttle Family with A.J. Lee. Sweet Tidings, Tail Draggers, Virtual Strangers, Blue Mountain Mule, Lighthouse, Tuttle-Mailander-Witler-Bailey, Chris Stuart & Janet Beazley, and just-added Chris Henry & Hardcore Grass.

3 Days of Great Live Music from 12 international, national and local bands, and wonderful activities, such as our 3rd annual Bluegrass Boot Camp for adults, Kids Camp, Sid Lewis' Jamming 101 other music workshops and family-friendly things to do, spontaneous jam sessions, our ever-popular instrument raffles, tasty food, and a variety of vendors. Summergrass is enjoyable for the whole family. It’s a great, affordable family event…and not too far to drive.

Chris Henry & Hardcore Grass - Chris Henry, Scott Simontacchi, Josh Brand, Mike Bubb, Shad Cobb are a five piece bluegrass band based in Nashville, TN. Founded in 2012, the group has risen quickly to be one of the most popular bluegrass groups in Nashville. Chris, an IBMA award nominee, comes from a traditional bluegrass background and blends his appreciation for the classic sound with his own creativity to stretch out into wide open spaces that have audiences riveted to hear what happens next. A must see.

So, what can you do with what you've learned in Kids Camp? Join John Mailiander, past participant in Kid's Camp, and his friends and see for yourself.

Molly Tuttle, John Mailander, Matt Witler and Brittany Karlson are individually renowned up-and-coming musicians in the acoustic music world, and will be joining together for two sets of dynamic original and traditional music. All four are currently studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Molly Tuttle is highly regarded for her soulful singing and songwriting talents. Originally from Palo Alto, CA, she is quickly becoming one of the top guitar/banjo players in the country, and is the winner of the Merlefest 2012 songwriting competition.

John Mailander, a San Diego native, is known for his unique voice on the fiddle and mandolin, and has performed with artists including the Alison Brown Quartet, Victor Wooten and Darol Anger.

Matt Witler, a Los Angeles based mandolinist, has performed with Marty Stuart and will be adding his instrumental virtuosity to the mix.

Bassist and vocalist Brittany Karlson hails from Aurora, IL, and has committed to the study of numerous musical traditions from jazz to classical to bluegrass. She has performed across the country at venues including Symphony Hall and the Kennedy Center.

The quartet's wide range of influences and appreciation for honest, soulful music blends into an exciting and fresh sound. Don't miss them.
