Nashville, TN -- The award-winning Lonesome River Band fresh off a Hollywood, CA performance this past weekend, will head back to Nashville today for three Nashville concerts this week. The group will no doubt thrill fans with performances at Music City Roots Live from the Loveless Barn, SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction Studio Special taping (live audience), and WSM Radio’s Station Inn Sessions.
Following the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Press Conference this Wednesday at the Loveless Barn where the organization will announce the final nominees for the 2012 IBMA Awards, Lonesome River Band will perform at the venue for the popular Music City Roots. The concert kicks off at 7:00 pm and also includes performances by Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Isaacs and Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice. Tickets are $10, $5 ages 6-18, $5 for students 19 and older that show a valid student ID, and free for children five and under. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Fans are invited to attend a SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction Studio Special taping on Thursday, August 16 at 12:00 noon. This special concert event by Lonesome River Band will take place in the theater at SiriusXM located at 509 Broadway, Nashville, TN.
Also on Thursday, August 16, Lonesome River Band will be featured on the WSM Radio’s Station Inn Sessions. The show will kick off at 5:00 pm when host, Mike Terry will interview the band followed by a concert that will air on WSM Radio and stream live at WSMonline.com. Rural Rhythm Records has released Volumes One and Two of the band’s Chronology album series. Volume Three is scheduled for release on September 25, 2012. Moonstruck Management will present an Anniversary Evening concert celebrating Lonesome River Band's 30th Anniversary along with label-mate Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme's Out 20th Anniversary on September 26, 2012 at 9:30 pm at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Nashville located at 322 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37201. Lonesome River Band includes the talents of Brandon Rickman (Guitar, Lead/Harmony Vocals); Mike Hargrove (fiddle); Barry Reed (Upright Bass, Harmony Vocals); Randy Jones (Mandolin, Lead/Harmony Vocals), and led by Virginia Country Music Hall of Famer and multi-award winning IBMA Banjo Player of the Year winner, Sammy Shelor. Last November, Shelor earned yet another honor winning The Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass.
After this week's busy Nashville appearances, Lonesome River Band will head back to California performing August 18-19 at the Summergrass Festival in San Diego before heading to Canada at the end of the month.
