Rock Ridge, from Northern CA, is a hard driving traditional bluegrass band with some contemporary arrangements, originals, old time country & gospel music with top notch vocals and instrumentation. The band's debut CD, Drifter's Prayer, has received praise and getting airplay across the US and abroad. They play at music festivals, weddings, civic and corporate events, private parties and concerts throughout the year. They are in the studio working on their 2nd recording set for a June 2012 release. Recently selected to play on the main stage at the CBA Father's Day Festival, Rock Ridge is on its way to becoming a powerhouse in the West Coast bluegrass scene.
Josie Grant is from Long Beach, CA and now lives in Durham, CA. She plays rhythm guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals. She provides the cut-above, gripping talent in bluegrass vocal sound that we all want to hear over and over again. Her tone, expression and powerful performance make her a standout among California's top bluegrass vocalists.
Rick Grant lives in Durham, CA and has been playing music since he was a child in Modesto, CA. He has a background in band, classical music, funk and gypsy jazz. He later discovered bluegrass and has become one of the finest bluegrass fiddle and mandolin players out here. He delivers powerful goose bump rendering lead and harmony vocals and writes and arranges many of the songs for the band.
Jon Schaffer is from Modesto, CA and now lives in Durham, CA. He sings rock solid lead and harmony vocals and keeps the band moving steady with his unrelenting sense of timing on the upright bass. He is one of the finest bluegrass and old time country song writers in the West and one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet!
Victor Skidanenko is a young rising talent in California. He is from San Jose, CA and is one of the finest banjo players on the west coast. He sings lead and harmony vocals and plays pretty much everything with strings, adhering to bluegrass' traditional style. Victor makes his living teaching and playing music.
