Master banjo builder and banjo design innovator Tom Nechville is to present an exclusive banjo workshop in Norwich, UK, hosted by the UK's leading banjo retailer Banjos Direct. The workshop takes place at Norwich Playhouse on Monday September 3rd, from 3pm to 6pm.
Tom Nechville is the founder and CEO of Nechville Musical Products, and the creator of the unique Nechville Helimount system, a radical reinvention of banjo design and technology.
Nechville Musical Products has been in business since 1989, manufacturing professional banjos and related accessories for the acoustic and electric string instrument market. The company owns patents on the unique Helimount banjo design and it has been enthusiastically accepted by the world's top players such as Bela Fleck and Alison Brown.
Replacing more than seventy parts of a traditional banjo, the Nechville Helimount body tightens together much like a jar on a lid; greatly reducing the assembly time and improving the banjo's sound.
Tom Nechville is not only a brilliant musical engineer and banjo craftsman, but a great player and an engaging raconteur too. This free event is a very rare opportunity for UK banjo enthusiasts to spend a few hours with a real master.
Tom Nechville has spent years in development and in consultation with the world's top players researching and finding ways to meet the needs of professionals. His experience has led to the refinement of the electric banjo, which has re-directed a new world-wide spotlight on the banjo.
Nechville instruments have appeared on MTV, the Olympics opening ceremonies, CMA Awards show, numerous cable and Direct TV specials and in major live Country, Rock, Jazz and Bluegrass concerts around the planet.
Banjos Direct, hosts for the Norwich workshop, is the UK's main dealer for Nechville banjos. Founder and CEO of Banjos Direct, Simon Middleton, said:
