For those that love not only bluegrass, but also breath-taking scenery, fishing, kayaking, camping, and trail riding in the spring mountains of southeast Kentucky, check out the inaugural Bluegrass On The Mountain Festival at Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park just east of Pineville, KY. Of course, you don’t have to have an ATV to come. But if you do have an ATV, side by side, or Jeep; our park has over 120 miles of free-to-access trails. The majority of the trails are beginner level and a lot can be accessed by even a 2WD truck or SUV, but there are some challenging ones as well for thrill-seekers.
The park also has over dozen ponds for those that enjoy fishing (on catch and release basis), and access to great kayaking and canoeing on the Cumberland River. Visitors may primitive camp, or bring their motor home or RV and camp for free (although the park is primitive and those bringing either will need to be self-contained with generators, water, etc.). The park features some of the most scenic views in Kentucky, with the Cumberland Mountain range towering over the south end of the park and the Pine Mountain range on the north.
The event will be headlined by bluegrass legend and native son Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. There will be music throughout the majority of the day with multiple acts from here in the heart of bluegrass country. Visitors may also find themselves on national television as the event will be visited by Brian Fisher from the most popular ATV show on television – Fisher’s ATV World on the Outdoor Channel. There will also be a kid’s fishing tournament at the Sam Low Pond with prizes to be given away by local outdoor supply store Imperial Bait and Tackle.
Information on entire lineup, ticket prices, and more will be coming in the next few weeks. For more information www.WildernessTrailOffRoadPark.net, call 606-499-0567, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also RSVP for the event on Facebook at www.facebook.com/WildernessTrailOffRoadPark
