Protest March to Bring Back Classic Country and Bluegrass

Margaret Maggie PennMargaret Maggie Penn has organized an 'Old Farts and Jackasses' protest march in Nashville, Tenn for April 17th. The march is to protest the fact that our country radio stations are playing mostly rock music and not including our Classic Country and Bluegrass.

Dave Burley says, "My understanding is that the march will start behind the BMI building on old 16th Ave. S. and proceed to various places. The march will protest in front of Warner Music who own the label that Blake Shelton is on. Also targeted is Sony Records and all other major labels on and near 16th Ave. S."

The march will make a stop at the CMA headquarters to deliver petitions concerning the CMA's decision to eliminate real Classic Country and Bluegrass music from the Fan Fair unless you are a major charting star on Billboard charts.

Margaret is planning to have a mini concert at the end of the march and has several major Classic Country artists that are planning to participate. Should be a fun day and a very good cause.

Margaret needs some of you bluegrassers that live in Nashville to be part of this march. It will be similar to the protest that we had in in front of WSM radio several years ago with many hand made and professionally made sign and lot's of protesters. There isn't much else we can do so let's get together and put our best into this.

It worked at WSM so maybe we can get some attention with this march. Check out Margaret Maggie Penn on FB and you will get more info. You can also sign The Petition for more traditional music.
