The Most Wanted Names in BluegrassThe Most Wanted Names in Bluegrass: Doyle Lawson, J.D. Crowe, Tony Rice, Bobby Hicks, Todd Phillips, The Bluegrass Album Band and more will all come together May 17 & 18 at the Sevierville, Tennessee Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass event.

Iconic bluegrass supergroup Bluegrass Album Band will reunite in Sevierville, Tennessee for a free concert on Saturday, May 18, 2013 during the city’s ninth annual Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass festival (May 17-18, 2013). This will be a rare opportunity to see the group perform together onstage. (The Bluegrass Album Band has only done one other concert this year and before that their last live performance was nearly 30 years ago).

All original group members including Doyle Lawson, Tony Rice, JD Crowe, Bobby Hicks, and Todd Phillips will be onstage together and will also be joined by Grammy nominated vocalist Rickey Wasson, who will perform Tony Rice’s vocals for this performance. From the original Bluegrass Album Band recording Rounder Records 0140, they went on to create a total of six volumes of historical recordings in a five year period.

2013 will be the most exciting Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass yet! Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass is the Southeast Tourism Society Festival of the Year and we’re living up to the title by bringing the bluegrass event of the decade to Sevierville as The Bluegrass Album Band performs live on stage Friday May 18th in a free concert. This iconic bluegrass group has only performed live together a handful of times in the last thirty years. For bluegrass fans, this will be a concert-of-a-lifetime opportunity. See all of the original band members, including Doyle Lawson, J.D. Crowe, Tony Rice, Bobby Hicks and Todd Phillips live on stage. Plus, Rickey Wasson and Phil Leadbetter will join them.
