Knoxville based, one-man-band graphic design firm Status Serigraph was chosen to produce Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion's 13th annual poster. Each individual poster is screen-printed by hand and is inked with a metallic sheen.
"This is a very special poster, and only 750 will be sold. The first 100 are numbered and signed by the artist," says BCM Executive Director Leah Ross.
Status Serigraph is well-known in the music industry for producing one-of-a-kind artwork for acts such as The Dave Matthews Band, the Avett Brothers, Phish and The Black Keys. Owner/designer Justin Helton was on hand at the poster's unveilling.
"The acoustic guitar is an icon for this town and for country music in general," Helton says of the motif. "So came the idea of this gigantic guitar growing out of the hills. The plane is really a show of scale, but it made sense to showcase it as the Birthplace of Country Music®."
The annual festival poster is on sale now at the festival office. Limited edition signed and numbered prints are $25, and unsigned, they are $15. Call 423-573-4898 for more information.
