The Georgia Marble Festival is proud to be the Home of the Georgia State Bluegrass Competition. A variety of competitions including Fiddle, Flat-Pickin' Guitar, Bluegrass Banjo, Mandolin and a Bluegrass Band Competition. The competitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday of the Georgia Marble Festival. A $15 fee per competition entry, and a fee of $10 per person for Band Entries. Cash prizes for all categories, and $1000 winner take all cash prize for the Bluegrass Band competition.
The Georgia Marble Festival is now Home of the Georgia State Bluegrass Championship. Competitions and Bluegrass/Gospel Entertainment will be held on the Main Stage in the Food Court Area. Click photos for more information. Headlining this year will be the award winning bluegrass group, the Lonesome River Band. There will be a second stage located in the Children's Area providing a variety of entertainment.
Also scheduled to perform are Grass Backardz Bluegrass Band. The Band is made up of Angie Hawkins, Larry Benefield and Veteran Bluegrass Musician Dan Daniel. Dan Daniel plays Banjo and also sings with the group. Dan is a member of The Atlanta Country Music Hall Of Fame The Atlanta Society Of Entertainers. And is the current President of the Southeastern Bluegrass Association.
