The Whiskey RebellionWilmington, NC -- Hendy Street Produxions has announced it’s DVD Release and World Premiere of the feature length documentary Live in Oregon. The historical Byrd Theatre in Richmond, VA will host the film’s inaugural screening next month, October 11th. A 21st century tale of adventure, discovery and every music enthusiasts dream; Summer tour with your band! Trek along with progressive bluegrass band The Whiskey Rebellion as our voyage captures the essence of the “Musical American Dream”, an insider’s perspective seldom seen. The group feeds from a lush musical valley of diversity fused with an unmatched atonal talent.

The Journey begins in Richmond Virginia, the band’s home, where we are quickly whisked away to the far off magical land of “Oregon”. There the band burns through city after city, bar after bar, and a few festivals in between on their passage towards the climactic performance at the historical Liberty Theatre in Astoria, Oregon. This show becomes the skeletal structure for the film as it becomes deeper and deeper intertwined with our story. An unrepeatable pilgrimage of musical experience not to be missed.

“The quintet plays a mostly high-energy, joyful brand of bluegrass, with skill full picking and two and three-part harmonies. The quintet is known for its imaginative remakes of songs by, among dozens of others, the Beatles, Johnny Cash, Gnarls Barkley, and Bob Dylan”
The Virginia Pilot

The Whiskey Rebellion is an award winning five-piece band from Central Virginia that plays high energy, acoustic music. Influenced by many styles including folk, bluegrass, jazz, and rock, this band creates a unique sound for the live setting comprised of skillful picking, three part harmony vocals and a distinct Noir style of song writing. TWR toured Oregon in 2010 after being invited to The Goonies 25th Anniversary celebration sparked by their YouTube hit “The Ballad of Chester Copperpot”. Playing with the likes of Corey Feldman’s band Truth Movement, The Ataris and Troy’s Bucket. It was a huge triumph and led to the tour that is known as “Live in Oregon”.

Tony Morin, the director is a Richmond, VA native who moved to Wilmington, NC to pursue the ocean, music and a career in film. His first music video with The Whiskey Rebellion was celebrated as an award winning success amongst major film festivals, YouTube and critics alike. A few shorts, music videos and live concerts later, Morin was charged with creating a musical documentation of TWR. After almost 2 years of balancing his Post-Production work alongside various TV and Film Jobs, he completed the hefty task of compiling 35 hours of footage into an hour-long musical experience.
