Artistworks Academy of BluegrassThe ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass are proud to sponsor the 22nd Annual International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, scheduled for Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Nashville, Tennessee's historic Ryman Auditorium. Nominees announced for this years awards include The Boxcars, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, The Gibson Brothers, Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas and Lonesome River Band. 'Rare Bird Alert', the new album from Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers, produced by Academy of Bluegrass teacher Tony Trischka, is nominated for Album of the Year.

The IBMA Awards Show is the centerpiece of the World of Bluegrass Week September 26 – October 2 in Nashville, Tennessee, which also includes the IBMA Business Conference and Bluegrass Fan Fest. The ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass will have a stand in addition to being sponsors of the awards. The IBMA Awards will be broadcast live on Sirius XM Satellite Radio (Bluegrass Junction, Channel 61) and also will be syndicated to more than 300 U.S. markets and 14 foreign networks.

The ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass has quickly become the world's leading online site for those wanting to learn bluegrass banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar or bass. The ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass consists of five schools: the School of Banjo with Tony Trischka, School of Mandolin with Mike Marshall, School of Fiddle with Darol Anger, School of Guitar with Bryan Sutton and School of Bass with Missy Raines. Unlike other video-based sites and DVDs, this innovative online music academy gives students the opportunity to send their teacher a recorded video of themselves practicing and receive personal feedback and individualized instruction in the form of a video response. All Video Exchanges between teacher and student are posted for all subscribing members to see and learn from.

You can learn more about the ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass by going to The ArtistWorks online visual education format allows virtuoso musicians to “Teach the World” by presenting their full method, technique or curriculum in HD video to subscribing students of their sites. Simple webcams are used by the students to submit videos to the Artist through the site, for critique and guidance. The Artists easily review student-submitted videos using the ArtistWorks Video Management System (patent pending). These Video Exchanges are posted for all subscribing students to learn from the teacher and from each other. This groundbreaking use of video-exchange for the instruction of musical instruments has been implemented at the Howard Levy Harmonica School, Qbert Skratch University, Peery Piano Online, Andreas Oberg Guitar Universe and the Martin Taylor Guitar Academy.
