The sixth annual Old Time Fiddlers Convention is just around the corner! The convention takes place Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at the Plemmons Student Union on the campus of Appalachian State University, Boone, NC. This is an all day event. The Fiddlers Convention is free to the public, though there is an entry fee for the competitions. Registration begins at 10:00am, check the 2014 Competition Schedule for contest times. The 2014 Convention registration for competing is $5, admission is FREE to all. The event features luthiers gathering, jamming, workshops, and competitions for adult and youth.
There will be 7 categories of competition in both youth and adult age groups. Going on during the competitions, the Hand Made Market will be taking place where convention goers can purchase a wide variety of handmade goods.
Interested in making your own instruments? Take a peek into the Luthiers Gathering to see what goes into making your very own instrument. There will also be various workshops throughout the day, such as banjo and clogging. Bring your own instrument for the jamming that takes place throughout the event.
After all of the events during the day are over, head over to the post Fiddlers Convention concert featuring the Sons of Bluegrass and Crazy Water Crystals! Doors open at 7:30pm, Show 8:00pm.
