James Reams & The Barnstormers will be appearing at the Marana Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13th along with nationally-known flat pick guitarist Dan Crary. A bluegrass band that was nominated by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2002 as Emerging Artist of the Year, James Reams & The Barnstormers provide a contemporary take on traditional bluegrass; blending it with innovation and vitality to create their own branch on the “roots” tree. In a review of an early album by James Reams, fRoots, an international magazine that specializes in world music, declared, “Traditional music kept alive by a stylish performer… Powerful, emotional music that needs to be heard.”
The festival is held in Marana, AZ — located on I-10 just northwest of Tucson at the Ora Mae Harn Park. The festival will include Arts & Crafts booths as well as food vendors. There’s lots to do in Marana too! As one of the longest continually inhabited areas in Arizona, Marana is proud of its' rich history and culture. Take a walk in Heritage Park or along the Santa Cruz River path to catch glimpses of the past.
