Spokane, WA -- A few months ago Poor Mountain Records signed Spokane, Washington's Kevin Pace and The Early Edition. Prior to the new partnership Kevin and his ensemble released their second project entitled "In With The Old, Out With The New." For the past several months this great project has only been available at the band's live shows and from their official webste. However talks between KPEE and Poor Mountain Records has lead to a national release of this fine collection of gospel songs. The recording is comprised of eleven gospel gems performed with taste in a traditional bluegrass style featuring the crystal clear tenor voice of Kevin Pace. Several bluegrass gospel standards are featured, each tastefully arranged by the band.
The project also features four originals from the pen of Kevin Pace. Bluegrass fans will love the crisp bluegrass harmonies and tasteful picking on "In With The Old, Out With The New." The project is now avaible for download on iTunes and other digital media outlets.
Kevin Pace & the Early Edition have been touring the northwest since they made their debut in January of 2012. Though fronting his own band had been in the back of his mind for a long time, the idea for this group came to Kevin in the spring of 2010.
After relocating from the southeast to the northwest, he wanted to put together a group of young guys who could play and sing real bluegrass and gospel music. After much prayer and consideration he began looking at who might fill the roles that were needed to make this band a reality. Then the good Lord let things start falling into place. After stumbling across some local kids playing bluegrass on youtube, Kevin contacted them and within a few months he had his banjo and fiddle player. After running into a musician at a festival that he had met the year before, he had his guitar player.
Soon after the four piece band began meeting and going over material and just getting to know one another both personally and musically. For several months the guys met and rehearsed without a bass. About eight months later a bassist was brought to Kevin's attention by one of the band members and a few weeks later the bass fiddle was in place and the group was complete. After a few more months of rehearsing the band was ready to make their debut and did so on January 21, 2012.
The band was very well received by the audience and was immediately hired for two festivals for later that year. They took off from there and have enjoyed a great two years of traveling around the northwest festival circuit and opening for such acts as Chis Jones & the Night Drivers, the Boxcars, the reigning and two-time IBMA entertainers of the year the Gibson Brothers and many more.
During this time the band has also recorded two CD projects which are available. As we look to go forth and continually build and broaden our fan base we look forward to coming to your area and bringing our brand of bluegrass and gospel music to a venue near you.
Radio programmers can also download the project in it's entirety from AirPlay Direct.
