‘Stiles of Bluegrass’ weekly show to launch on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, starting Saturday, July 5th. While celebrating our Nation’s Independence this coming Fourth of July holiday weekend, you can tune in to a brand new Bluegrass program hosted by recording artist Jessica Stiles. The show, Stiles of Bluegrass, will air Saturdays, from 11 am ‘til 2 pm on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, 105.5 FM in the Washington DC area and streaming worldwide at www.bluegrasscountry.org -
Previously in this timeslot the station has aired Carol Beaugard’s Lonesome Pine RFD program, which is signing off after 30 years. Beaugard created the popular program in 1985 and broadcasts live weekly from the studios of 89.1, WFDU-FM (streamed live on www.wfdu.fm), on the Teaneck campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Since 2007 the show has been carried on WAMU’s “Bluegrass Country” headquartered in Washington, D.C., heard at 105.5 FM, in HD radio at 88.5 Channel 2, and worldwide online at www.BluegrassCountry.org.
Ms. Stiles will host the show live from WAMU’s studios in NW Washington, and looks forward to guest artist appearances, and spinning vinyl in addition to digital formats.
Chris Teskey, Senior Music Producer at the station said, “we are excited to welcome Jessica Stiles to the Bluegrass Country broadcasting staff. Jessica has performed live music for us in the past, and we are pleased to have her join us as a program host.”
Jessica’s newest release, a four-song EP featuring Mike Compton, Josh Williams, Charlie Cushman and more, will be out on vinyl this August (digital release date: July 22 on iTunes and AirPlay Direct for radio).
