Rhonda Vincent Writes Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival Theme Song

Rhonda VincentRoanoke Island, NC -- Rhonda Vincent has written, Bluegrass Island, as a theme song for the 3rd Annual Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival, sponsored by PNC Bank and Bollie Lee Jarratt Jr. CPA. The song, written especially for the event, is a tribute to the distinct entities that have garnered the OBX Bluegrass Festival national recognition, including the Island venue and BoomGrass fireworks show.

"I was honored to be asked to write a song about one of my favorite festivals. I envisioned the sights, sounds and feelings this unique setting brings to bluegrass music," said Rhonda Vincent. "The song takes the listener on a musical journey through the festival. I hope it makes everyone want to attend to experience the song first hand and I look forward to performing it live at the event in September," Vincent continued.

Jam sessions will be held in the parking lot and host hotel, The Elizabethan Inn, throughout the weekend. A complete schedule is available at www.bluegrassisland.com.

Another stand out activity at the event is BoomGrass! The fireworks show held during the festival from barges anchored behind the stage, over the water and choreographed to bluegrass music is the largest in the state of North Carolina.

Our goal is to provide something for everyone at the OBX Bluegrass Festival. We have an outstanding lineup of bands and the finest fireworks show in North Carolina," said festival director Cory T. Hemilright. "This year is particularly exciting because Rhonda Vincent has honored us with a theme song. I can't wait for people to hear, Bluegrass Island and I hope it makes them want to listen to some great music when they visit the beach in September!
