Stephen BurwellDoyle Lawson says, "Check out our new fiddle player! Stephen Burwell just came on board and his first show with us will be Saturday, in Galax, VA. Come out, meet him, and help us make him welcome!"

Stephen counts Stuart Duncan and Aubrey Haney as early influences. He played and won many contests in the Northwest, and he especially loves Texas-style fiddle. Though his career has been relatively short, Stephen has played with several bands…North Country, Faust & Blair, and Brother’s Keeper, a gospel group. Along with his sister, Sarah, his brother, Seth, and friend, James Meyers, he formed the Christmas band, Twelfth Night. Stephen has appeared at SPBGMA and IBMA events. In his spare time, Stephen plays music and enjoys all aspects of recording. As the newest member of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Stephen feels like God sent him east at just the right time.

"Stephen moved to North Carolina from Washington state last month. He's newish to this part of our country but has been at IBMA and SPBGMA many times, and played with several groups before landing with DL&Q! Stephen has 5 brothers and 2 sisters so we figure he won't have any trouble getting along with the guys on the bus! He's one of the most polite young men I've ever met! I know you will enjoy his fiddle playing...Doyle couldn't stop smiling when they were here rehearsing in the office early in the week. Hope you will take the first chance you get to come hear Stephen play!"
  - Stephen's Sister

Doyle commented earlier, "Stephen Burwell is Quicksilver's new fiddle player and the band looks forward to having him as a part of the team. He is from Texas but lived in Washington state until his recent move to North Carolina."
