Bluegrass Students Highlight Song of the Mountains Nov. 1st

East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Pride BandMarion, VA -- Two top notch Universities will send their best bluegrass students to perform on the nationally syndicated public television concert series Song of the Mountains on Saturday, November 1st at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia. From Kentucky, Morehead State University’s Mountain Music Ambassadors under the direction of Raymond McLain will perform on the November 1st concert taping as will the East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass Pride Band under the direction of Dan Boner.

This concert promises to be the best bluegrass music a fan can hear anywhere. Also joining the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band on this concert will be the ETSU Celtic Band. Additionally on the concert taping will be Bad Ridge from Southwestern Virginia, The Blue Ridge Entertainers from Johnson City, Tennessee and the wonderful bluegrass family music of Lonesome Meadow from Ohio.

This concert will be taped for national distribution on public television across America. Song of the Mountains is broadcast on over 190 outlets across the United Sates and is its tenth season. The concert series is hosted by Tim White.

The Song of the Mountains concert and taping on November 1st will begin at 7:00 pm at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, VA. Tickets and information is available at www.songofthemountains.org or by calling 276-783-6093. Tickets are $ 25 reserved seating.

The concert series is underwritten by the Town of Marion, VA, the Ellis Family Foundation including the General Francis Marion Hotel, Bank of Marion, Morehead State University, Emory and Henry College and Blue Ridge Country 98.1 WBRF Radio.
