2016 John Hartford Memorial FestivalWhere in the world can you go to sit back, relax, know your kids are safe, enjoy campground cooking, have plenty of room to move around, jam jam jam, and know you are going to be in for the most exciting, thoroughly entertaining, heckuva bunch of pickers and singers ever to be assembled in the Most Laid Back atmosphere in this country? How about joining the John Hartford Memorial Festival during the first week in June in Bean Blossom Indiana, Bill Monroe’s Music Park for the 6th Annual John Hartford Memorial Festival, The Most Laid Back Festival in America!

Folks, The John Hartford Memorial Festival is tickled to announce their first wave of entertainers for the 2016 John Hartford Memorial Festival, with many more to come. Already confirmed are Sam Bush, Leftover Salmon, The Travelin' McCourys, Great American Taxi, The Dillards, The Hillbenders presenting "Tommy", and a host of other acts. Updates and additions willbe on

The John Hartford Memorial Festival is limiting their Early Bird sales to the first 500. Why? According to co-promoter Tom Burkhart, “Our ticket prices are structured to give a break to the first 500 sold. Last year The festival sold out this first tier and The festival feel they will sell out much quicker this year. The John Hartford Memorial Festival is working to keep a small festival feeling by capping off the full festival tickets sold at 2500 total, even as The festival bring bigger names into their lineup.”

Everyone gets the same opportunity to get in. Staying in tune with their mission to further the legacy, music and history of their namesake, John Hartford, and the vision of original festival promoter, John Hotze, The festival have birthed a family of like minded folks, bent on having a great time with music and friendship in a family atmosphere.

The festival will only sell enough tickets to insure that The festival can do it again, next year. The festival aim to live up to their reputation as “The Most Laid Back Festival In America”, by not getting so big that The festival bump elbows and bang instruments. Everyone is on equal ground here. Tom Burkhart went on to say, “At JHMF The festival treat everyone the same and will never have any audience areas reserved for VIP because The festival feel that everyone attending is very important.

The festival urges you to bring your family and join us as The festival present with tons of excitement. Tickets are on sale now! Ticket and camping info at
