Abingdon's Free Music on The Lawn Moves Inside for Sunday

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Poionter BrothersAbingdon, VA -- Due to a chilly forecast, The Music on The Lawn concert for Sunday, April 10th, will move inside to the Ballroom at The Martha. Featuring the Pointer Brothers music, the concert is free and scheduled for 1-3pm.

Tom Netherland recently wrote about the Pointer Brothers for the Bristol Herald Courier and had this to say:

"Pure love of music best explains the trio's venture as a band. Despite what some may assume about pickers and singer, not all musicians play as if a dollar comes attached."

The Sisters American Grille at the Martha will be serving Brunch as well as drink service for interested guests, but it is not mandatory. All are welcome to come for the free concert. Indoor concerts will not allow outside food or beverage, however outdoor shows welcome guests to bring their own picnics.

Music on The Lawn runs on Sundays through May 15th, featuring acoustic bluegrass, jazz, folk and celtic music from around the region. Concerts will normally be held at the gazebo on the lawn of The Martha, from 1-3pm this Spring. A full lineup and description of entertainment can be found at
