SPBGMA Honors The All American Bluegrass Band as Entertaining Group of the Year

The All American Bluegrass BandThe Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America (SPBGMA) is a regular favorite for bluegrass fans and artists. The 38th Annual SPBGMA Midwest Bluegrass Music Awards and 29th Midwest Convention was held January 13th through the 15th, 2012 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, Jefferson City, MO. Last December 29th, the midwest 2012 nominees were announced by SPBGMA. This year, The All American Bluegrass Band captured the Entertaining Group of the Year while Jeff Hardin captured Entertainer of the Year honors.

SPBGMA holds regional Awards and conventions in preparation for the annual national event held each year. The regional events such as this Midwest gathering offer an excellent way for smaller acts to gain the attention and the eye of talent buyers, promoters and others involved in bluegrass music.

SPBGMA serves to preserve the traditional spirit and art form of Bluegrass music. The organization also offers a management service for any community desiring to hold a Bluegrass festival and/or to organize and conduct Bluegrass Band competitions. In all SPBGMA sponsored events, instruments must be traditional acoustic instruments, no electrified instruments permitted. SPBGMA encourages professionalism in appearance and showmanship by the performers at SPBGMA events as well as encouraging the support of various Bluegrass publications and associations.
