Larry SparksInternational Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA), two time Male Vocalist of the Year, Larry Sparks and his band will end the winter Bluegrass series for 2012 at the American Legion in Hughesville, MD on Sunday March 11, 2012. Larry Sparks' music has become known to audiences beyond the hardest of the Bluegrass Music hard-core. It has become clear that within Bluegrass music there are only a small handful of major stylists. Larry Sparks is one of the few who has created a style while remaining true to the best traditions of bluegrass.

A musician by the time he started high school, Larry Sparks stepped into the history books and into the heart of the music when he began making appearances as the legendary Stanley Brothers lead guitarist before graduation. With the death of Carter Stanley in 1966, Sparks became Ralph Stanley's right-hand man, moving into the Clinch Mountain Boys'.

Larry Sparks has over 30 records and CD's to date. As a stellar performer, the spotlight is always where it needs to be—on the quiet power of Larry Sparks, guitarist and master singer. On Sunday March 11, Larry will feature songs from his 2011 Album of the Year Nominee, "Almost Home", on Rounder Records.

The show will be held at the American Legion Post 238 in Hughesville, Maryland on the corner of Rt. 381 & Rt. 231 and will begin at 2:00 pm, doors opening at Noon. Tickets are "ONLY" $15.00 per person. This will be a great and entertaining Bluegrass show for an unbelievable price. Food will be available for sale before the show. For more information, tickets, and directions, go to www.americanlegionbluegrass.com or call 301-737-3004. Also non-perishable food donations are accepted for the Helping Hands Food Bank in Southern Maryland. Once again the sound will be provided by the great, Troy Jones.
