Corey Frizzell, Wins AMG Heritage Freelance Visual Artist of the Year Award

Final 2012 “Bluebird in the Bluegrass” Night at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe

Throughout the year, the concerts have been a successful showcase of bluegrass songwriting talent, and have raised money for the IBMA Trust Fund. IBMA looks forward to continuing its relationship with The Bluebird in 2013.

AirPlay Direct Connects with International Bluegrass Music Conference

The Gibson BrothersThe Gibson Brothers took home the “Entertainer of the Year” Award at the 23rd annual International Bluegrass Music Awards Thursday night, September 27, 2012 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Brothers Eric and Leigh Gibson, along with their band (Mike Barber, Clayton Campbell and Joe Walsh) also picked up an award for “Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year” for “Singing As We Rise.”

Curly Seckler Celebrates 77 Years in Bluegrass Music at World of Bluegrass

Curly SecklerBluegrass legend Curly Seckler is scheduled to participate in an Earl Scruggs Storytelling Session during the IBMA World of Bluegrass event in Nashville later this month. The session will take place on Tuesday, September 25, from 8:00 - 9:30 AM in the 3rd Floor Lounge in the Nashville Convention Center. Others scheduled to take part include Haskel McCormick, Gerald McCormick, and Kent Blanton (and probably a surprise guest or two).

Free Bluegrass Concert Sunday, 9/23 to Kick Off World of Bluegrass Week

IBMA Announces Nancy Cardwell as New Executive Director

The Foundation for Bluegrass Music Extends Grant Application Deadline

Earl ScruggsNashville, TN -- Earl Scruggs was perhaps one of the only musicians in any genre who created the definitive sound of his instrument in the genre; banjo players around the world will forever identify the sound of the three-finger style of bluegrass banjo playing as “Scruggs style.” Warren Hellman was a visionary who created, funded and grew his California-based “Hardly Strictly Bluegrass” free event into one of the largest of its kind in the country. Mr. Hellman passed away on December 18, 2011, and Mr. Scruggs passed away on March 28, 2012.
