The album features a lineup of incredibly talented musicians and singers, many of whom are Grammy® or IBMA award winners or nominees. The list includes Sam Bush, Deryl Dodd, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Ron Stewart, Stephen Mougin, Gerald Jones, Greg Cahill, Ned Luberecki, Mike Bub, Randy Kohrs, Brad Davis, Nate Lee, Bobby Davis, and Steve Rhian.
It was a very special night last Saturday as determined fans braved hail and rain to hear bluegrass music group Greg Cahill and Special Consensus perform with the Americana group Belfry Fellows. The concert was the final performance in a series to benefit Providence Minisitries men's shelter in Dalton, Georgia.
An impressive 37 years into the band's history, Special Consensus has a reputation as a band with a strong yet invisible hand in the national and international bluegrass scene, offering a springboard for the solo careers of many of the genre's finest performers. Lead man and banjoist Greg Cahill has developed a formula for cultivating successful, road-worthy groups and his bandleader acumen has never been stronger. On Scratch Gravel Road, Special Consensus delivers what is arguably the finest album in its nearly 4-decade career, featuring a set of new material both driving and deep. The album is scheduled for release on March 27.
