Doyle Lawson's Latest Release Available for Pre-Ordering

Roads Well TraveledDoyle and the guys have completed a new recording that should be out in March. They have been working on it for about 2 months, when they could find the time to get together at the studio. They recorded this one at Josh Swift’s studio and some at Mike Roger’s studio, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver then headed to the studio at Crossroads to start recording some special songs that will be a part of a new opportunity coming up.

Urban Monroes Release New Single to Radio

Urban MonroesOn Feb 8th the Urban Monroes released the single “Never My Love” making it available to DJ’s at Airplay Direct. With Valentine’s Day coming, love is in the air and it does seem a timely release. Though it wasn’t originally planned to coincide with the 14th, a bluegrass love song that doesn’t end up with a murder in it is a nice touch for the heart-felt holiday.

Three Tall Pines Expecting New Recording this Spring

Three Tall PinesThree Tall Pines is very excited to announce that they have been very busy in the studio during the past fall and into the early winter. The group is recording a new EP in beautiful Portland Maine under the production wing of Ron cody and engineer Steve Drown at The Studio. Darel Anger is arranging some of the fiddle power so you know this will be a wonderfuly arranged release.

Alan Bibey and Wayne Benson Create "The Mandolin Chronicles"

The Mandolin ChroniclesAlan Bibey and Wayne Benson, two of the greatest living award winning mandolin players, have joined together to create some of the most exciting bluegrass music in recent history with, The Mandolin Chronicles. The album, to be released March 12th on Pinecastle Records, showcases the pair on ten instrumental tunes and one vocal tune, "Another Night," featuring IIIrd Tyme Out's Russell Moore. Bibey and Benson wrote six songs on the album, co-writing three of them. Other musicians joining them on the album include Ron Stewart on banjo and fiddle, Wyatt Rice on guitar, and Harold Nixon on bass. Doc Watson Family Milestones Kickstarter Announced

MilestonesIn April 2013, Open Records will release a multi-disc collection of 92 never-before-heard recordings from the Watson family archive, compiled and organized by Doc Watson’s daughter Nancy Watson. The collection features rare 1950s recordings of Doc Watson playing electric guitar and original songs by Doc and other members of the family. Also included are songs and stories from the family, recorded by the family themselves, that offer an intimate look into the musical life of this extraordinary family. A new Kickstarter program has been launched to help achieve a timely completion of the project.
