Dottie West: Country Sunshine Spotlight Exhibit to Open Nov 9

Dottie WestNashville, TN -- The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will unveil a special spotlight exhibit dedicated to beloved singer Dottie West on November 9. Dottie West: Country Sunshine, which will be located within the museum's permanent exhibit on the second floor, will incorporate costumes and relics spanning West’s four-decade career. The exhibition will run through May 2, 2013.

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum to Spotlight Bakersfield Sound

The Bakersfield SoundNashville, TN -- The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum will shine a spotlight on its exhibition The Bakersfield Sound: Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, and California Country, with several special programs on November 10-11. Highlights include a family program in which kids will create an art project inspired by Bakersfield Sound stage wear and instruments; a songwriter session with Buddy Mize; and an interview with Buck Owens family members Buddy Alan, John Owens, Mel Owens and Michael Owens (including a brief performance by Alan), all on Saturday, November 10.

From the Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 197,938 people visited the museum, an increase of 15% over 2011’s prior record of 172,100.

Minnie Pearl 50th Opry AppearanceNashville, TN -- Minnie Pearl: Centennial Celebration, a spotlight exhibit on one of the most beloved comedic figures of the twentieth century, will be unveiled August 10 at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. The exhibit, which celebrates the 100th birthday of Minnie Pearl, the beloved character created by Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon, is located within the museum’s permanent exhibition and will run through August 2013.

Academy of Country Music Pledges $2.5 Million to Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum

Working on a Building - ACMNashville, TN -- The Academy of Country Music (ACM) has pledged $2.5 million to Working on a Building: Country Music Lives Here, the capital campaign that will finance the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum's expansion from 140,000 square feet to more than 350,000 square feet. The museum's expansion will include the ACM Contemporary Gallery, which will examine modern developments and current trends in country music. The gallery Will Spotlight Emerging Artists and Current Superstars.

Chet Atkins Exhibit to Close Sunday at Country Music Hall of Fame

Chet Atkins, CGPNashville, TN -- The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum is preparing to bid farewell to the cameo exhibit Chet Atkins: Certified Guitar Player, Made Possible by the Gretsch Company, which opened in the museum's East Gallery on August 12, 2011. In recognition of the exhibit's July 15 finale, the museum is offering a packed lineup of Atkins-themed programs including a special program starring Grammy-winning guitarist Earl Klugh on Saturday, June 30; additional concerts by some of Atkins' friends, peers and protégés; a series of film screenings; and daily instrument demonstrations. The exhibit was extended during April of this year.

2012 We're All For the Hall Benefit Raises $465,000

Vince GillNashville, TN -- According to information released today by the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, Keith Urban's April 10 We're All for the Hall benefit concert raised $465,000, bringing the event's three-year total to approximately $1.5 million. Nearly 14,000 fans packed Nashville's Bridgestone Arena to enjoy the one-of-a-kind show.
