Academy of Bluegrass Sponsors 2011 IBMA Awards

Artistworks Academy of BluegrassThe ArtistWorks Academy of Bluegrass are proud to sponsor the 22nd Annual International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, scheduled for Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Nashville, Tennessee's historic Ryman Auditorium. Nominees announced for this years awards include The Boxcars, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, The Gibson Brothers, Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas and Lonesome River Band. 'Rare Bird Alert', the new album from Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers, produced by Academy of Bluegrass teacher Tony Trischka, is nominated for Album of the Year.

Rounder Has Many of Their Artists Nominated for IBMA Awards

The awards show will take place in Nashville at the historic Ryman Auditorium on Thursday, September 29 at 7:30 PM CST.

The Grascals Nail Down Four IBMA Nominations

The GrascalsNashville, TN -- The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Awards Ballot for 2011 is official. The Grascals' head into the final voting with a total of four nominations: Entertainer of the Year, Song of the Year, Recorded Event of the Year and band member Kristin Scott Benson, reigning three-time Instrumental Performer of the Year (Banjo), is in the running for that honor again this year. Winners will be announced at the organization's 22nd annual awards show, scheduled for September 29, 2011 (7:30 p.m. CDT), at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. The ceremony will be broadcast live on SiriusXM's Bluegrass Junction.

Lonesome River Band Receive 6 IBMA Awards Nominations

Lonesome River BandBand members of one of bluegrass music's favorite groups, Lonesome River Band, are celebrating five International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Award nominations just in time for the group's 30th Anniversary next month. Lonesome River Band received a nomination for Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year for "Pretty Little Girl," from their current album Still Learning (Rural Rhythm).

The Boxcars On Track with Top IBMA Award Nominations

The BoxcarsThe Boxcars, a band that features the talents of Adam Steffey, Ron Stewart, John R. Bowman, Keith Garrett and Harold Nixon, lead in all categories with IBMA Award nominations for Entertainer of the Year; Instrumental Group of the Year; Album of the Year (The Boxcars, self-produced for the Mountain Home label); Gospel Recorded Performance ("In God's Hands," written by John Benjamin Rochester); Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year ("Jumpin' the Track," written by Ron Stewart); Emerging Artist of the Year; Banjo Player and Fiddle Player (Ron Stewart) and Mandolin Player (Adam Steffey).

Russell Moore to Co-Host IBMA Awards Nominee Press Conference

Russell  MooreRussell Moore will be co-hosting the IBMA Awards Press Conference to be held on Wednesday, August 17th at the Loveless Barn in Nashville, Tennessee. During the event, the final nominees for the 2011 IBMA Awards as well as the inductees for the Bluegrass Hall of Fame will be announced. Joining Russell for co-hosting duties will be Doyle Lawson, Sierra Hull and Josh Williams. The IBMA Awards will take plac e on Thursday, September 29th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville as part of the World of Bluegrass Conference. Russell is the reigning IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year having won the coveted honor in 2010.

Sam Bush to Host 22nd International Bluegrass Music Awards Show

Sam BushNashville, TN -- Award-winning artist, band leader, songwriter and mandolin monster Sam Bush will host the 22nd annual International Bluegrass Music Awards on Thursday, September 29, at 7:30 p.m. at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. Bush commented saying, "It is my pleasure to return as the host for the 2011 IBMA Awards. As a bluegrass fan and fellow Kentuckian, it's especially important to me in the 100th year anniversary of Bill Monroe's birth. I look forward to spending the evening with the nominees and the winners, as this is their special night."
