New Bluegrass Museum Groundbreaking -- The Next Chapter has Begun

New International Bluegrass Music Museum GroundbreakingOwensboro, KY -- Ground breaking for the new home of the Bluegrass Music Museum and Hall of Fame took place Thursday June 23. The large crowd included Hall of Fame members Del McCoury, Jesse McReynolds, Eddie Adcock, JD Crowe and Larry Sparks.

New International Bluegrass Music Museum GroundbreakingOwensboro, KY -- Together with the City of Owensboro, Mayor Ron Payne, the Daviess County Fiscal Court and Judge Executive Al Mattingly, the International Bluegrass Music Museum and Hall of Fame is set to break ground on a new $15.4 million facility Thursday June 23 at Noon at 311 West 2nd Street, Owensboro. This fully funded project is a collaboration between the City of Owensboro, the State of Kentucky and the IBMM.

ROMP Fest Announces Final Lineup Additions

Chris JoslinMerry Christmas from everyone at the International Bluegrass Music Museum! As many of you know, I am the new guy and this year has been all about change and adjustment for me and my family. In addition to learning the ropes in a new job, my daughters are adjusting to life as college students, my wife is transitioning from her job of almost 12 years, we are selling our home in Nashville and settling in as new residents of Owensboro, Kentucky. Many of you have navigated similar waters at some point in your life. As one might imagine, this has resulted in a mixture of excitement and joy along with a touch of hand wringing about embracing so much change. Fortunately for me, joy and excitement about the future has far outpaced everything else as 2016 quickly approaches.

Bluegrass Music Museum Names New Executive Director

IBMM Executive Director Chris JoslinOwensboro, KY - The International Bluegrass Music Museum's Board of Directors announced that Chris Joslin has been named as the organization's Executive Director. Joslin is expected to begin working at the Museum in Owensboro, Kentucky on September 1. Joslin brings to the IBMM extensive experience as an Executive Recruiter, including his most recent position with the Sanford Group, a retained search firm out of Nashville, Tennessee. Prior to that, he worked as an operations manager with a healthcare company in Nashville focused on stand-alone physical therapy clinics. Joslin received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Belmont University as well as a Masters of Business Administration from Belmont's Massey School of Business.

Bluegrass Museum Unveils “Bluegrass Music: A History with Many Sources”

Bluegrass Music ExhibitOwensboro, KY -- The International Bluegrass Music Museum’s (IBMM) latest exhibit, “Bluegrass Music: A History with Many Sources,” is now open for public viewing. The exhibit, which will run for one year, acts as a timeline, tracing the history of Bluegrass music from the early 1900s to the late 1950s when artists such as Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs and the Stanley Brothers gave the genre its name.
