Planet Bluegrass Announces 2015 RockyGrass Lineup

The Earls of LeicesterA week ago Planet Bluegrass finished up their biggest week of ticket sales ever. Thanks to Festivarians around the world for your patience and persistence through what can be a stressful time. During the peak Planet Bluegrass received more than 40 orders per second (!!), as Festivarians from all 50 states and numerous foreign countries secured their tickets for the 2015 Planet Bluegrass season.

After an incredible restoration effort led by the Planet Bluegrass staff, the show went on as scheduled without missing a beat. We had the honor of being one of this year's sponsors and had a great time as we always do there, thanks to all who came out to see us at our booth!

Planet Bluegrass Turns Green with Yondersod

Planet Bluegrass StageLyons, CO -- Last December Yonder Mtn String Band threw down an epic evening at the Boulder Theater with special guests Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and many others. 100% of the proceeds from that show were donated to our flood recovery here in Lyons. A week ago that generosity came alive in the form of "Yondersod" -- the 7 acres of lush green that now blankets the Planet Bluegrass Ranch. This arrival of green was an emotional transformation that helped us envision, even more clearly, the return of Festivarians and tarps to the Ranch this summer after the 500-year flood that devastated Lyons last September.

Nonprofit CAN'd Helps Planet Bluegrass Shows Go On

As the flood waters receded we vowed to rebuild Planet Bluegrass better than ever. Lyons, Colorado is home to Craig Ferguson's Planet Bluegrass that hosts the annual RockyGrass bluegrass music festival, as well as Telluride and many others. The beautiful Planet Bluegrass Ranch is situated along side the rock cliffs and the St. Vrain River. The recent 100 year flood that has stricken the front range of Colorado has left much of Lyons and the surrounding areas under water.

Colorado's RockyGrass Bluegrass Music Festival Celebrates 40 Years

RockyGrassThe 40th annual RockyGrass Bluegrass Music Festival July 27-29 has been one of Colorado’s most beloved festivals since Bill Monroe met with members of the Colorado Bluegrass Music Society in 1972 and founded the musical association (originally called the Rocky Mountain Bluegrass Festival). The picturesque setting along the banks of the St.Vrain River offers an acoustical wonderland as the music echoes off the river’s steep cliffs in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Bluegrass fans from across the U.S., Canada, and around the world flock to the Planet Bluegrass meadow below the cliffs. Bluegrass music will echo through the valley for three full days.

RockyGrassPlanet Bluegrass announced the historic 40th anniversary initial lineup for RockyGrass. The bluegrass music festival welcomes many of the artists who have shaped the festival for 4 decades – from bluegrass legends and pioneers to special collaborations to some of the younger artists who continue to push bluegrass in exciting new directions. It's been 40 years since Bill Monroe met with members of the Colorado Bluegrass Music Society to found the RockyGrass Festival (originally called the Rocky Mountain Bluegrass Festival). With the announcement of the preliminary lineup for the 40th RockyGrass, festivarians can already start to hear the mandolins and banjos echoing off the cliffs of the St. Vrain River in Lyons, Colorado.

MilkDrive Earns Acclaim, Performing at RockyGrass, ACL Music Festival

MilkDriveAustin, TX -- MilkDrive, Austin's alt-folk-progressive acoustic string band, released its debut studio album, Road From Home produced by Bil VornDick (Alison Krauss, Bela Fleck), in April. The band has been touring since the release, and will perform at upcoming festivals RockyGrass and Austin City Limits Music Festival. MilkDrive recently performed on "Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour" http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp and recorded a music video for the song, SoHo.
