John Bryan to Replace Jamie Johnson with The Grascals

John BryanIt was announced yesterday that Jamie Johnson, founding member of the Grascals, is departing the band after over 10 years and will be replaced by John Bryan. Jamie has been fighting depression for some years now and his departure will help him with that issue plus allowing him to spend more time with his family and son.

Bill YatesMartinsburg, WV -- 2004 is when the idea of The Country Gentlemen Tribute Band was first born, when Bill Yates, 20+ year member of the Country Gentlemen, Darren Beachley and David Propst met at Cabin Fever Picking Party in Hampton, VA and sang some old and new Country Gentlemen songs. Later, after further deliberation, they decided to go through in creating a project in tribute to the Country Gentlemen. After a search produced the addition of 4 more members, in August of 2005 the Bill Yates and Friends: A Tribute to the Country Gentlemen project was initially started and later was completed and released in December 2006 on the MasterShield Records label located out of Bridgewater, VA. It became an instant hit with fans, friends and fellow musicians alike, so much so that the band started touring.

Rounding out the group is Mike Walker on mandolin/baritone vocals and Wes Deaton bassfiddle/bass vocals.

Darin and Brooke Aldridge Welcome their New Fiddler

Carley ArrowoodCarley Arrowood is the newest addition to the Darin and Brooke Aldridge band. The 18 year old college freshman from Union Mills, North Carolina plays fiddle and sings harmony. She spent three years with the IBMA Kids On Bluegrass program and has won multiple First Place awards, including the North Carolina Mountain State Fair and the 2013 Ellenboro Fiddlers Convention. At the 2014 Union Grove Fiddler’s Convention she won First Place in the adult bluegrass fiddle and in the adult female vocals competitions. Carley also placed 6th in adult bluegrass fiddle at this year’s Galax Old Fiddlers Convention.

Mountain Heart Announces New Band Formation, Album
