The Spinney Brothers Welcome Terry Poirier to the Band

Terry PoirierThe Spinney Brothers are thrilled to introduce Terry Poirier to the group as their new bass player. Terry is a native of New Brunswick, Canada and is the son of very well-known Canadian fiddle player, Eddy Poirier. Terry has spent the last 5 years as bass player for the contemporary bluegrass group, Newtown and is also a DJ, Webmaster and Music Librarian for World Wide Bluegrass.

Shannon Slaughter Announces New County Clare Band Members

Shannon and Heather SlaughterNashville, TN -- Shannon Slaughter is proud to announce new band members and updates for the bluegrass band County Clare. Shannon and his wife Heather recently welcomed the addition of a new baby girl to their family. “While Heather will be scaling back some on performing with County Clare and enjoying time with our new little girl, she will still be a part of the band. We are extremely dedicated to being the best parents we can be with Rae. We want her raised around family, friends, and the bluegrass music community because we believe they are the best fans in the world,” says Shannon.

Farm Hands Welcome Jesse Turner as New Guitarist

Russell Moores Welcomes New IIIrd Tyme Out Members

Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out will be unveiling their new band lineup when they perform in Galax, VA on January 4, 2014, for the Fairview Ruritan Club. Other dates in January include Grayson, KY, Clay City, KY and Fort Payne, AL. Another Band Change -- John Meyer Departing Clay Hess Band

John MeyerBanjo player announced, "I thought I'd write a little note about the circumstances of my leaving The Clay Hess Band, since a good deal of my friends have been asking, and for some reason, people always seem to assume the worst." The change isn't due to anything wrong -- quite the contrary. The band has announced on Facebook that Zach Gilmer has joined the Clay Hess Band on banjo.

Barry Crabtree Departs James King Band

Barry CrabtreeI a sudden announcement, banjo artist Barry Crabtree announced, "I'm no longer playing with the James King band so if anybody needs a banjo player or some fill in work let me know, thanks." Barry is an accomplished artists as he's been playing banjo most of his entire life. Most recently, he has been performing with the James King Band. He is now actively seeking new opportunities and getting ready for the next path in his musical career.

Adkins & Loudermilk - Putting a Band Together

Adkins, Loudermilk, Crawford and CrainWe recently wrote about Dave Adkins and Edgar Loudermilk getting together. the new duo are planning on a new album release in the summer of next year. Both artists are working their respective individual solo releases and look forward to working together on their next adventure. Of course for their next musical journey, they will need to put a band together. That is just what they are doing. Adkins & Loudermilk have announced the addition of Andrew Crawford and Glen Crain to their band.

Band Changes for American Drive, Auditions Open

Today comes the announcement that two of their members, guitarist Rickey Wasson and banjo picker Josh Hymer have departed the group. As you may recall, this band was formed when JD Crowe's former New South members continued on under a new name after JD retired from a full time performance slate.

In an effort to capitalize on a songwriting and solo CD push, Edgar Loudermilk will be exiting the group at the end of this year's touring season. Over the last few years especially, Edgar has spent many hours honing and crafting his songwriting skills and he now feels it's time to bring his work and, also, lead vocal abilities, to the 'front of the stage' and into higher exposure than what his position in Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out will allow.

The Grascals Announce New Fiddler, Adam Haynes

Yesterday, the super bluegrass music group, The Grascals, announced their new fiddler on Facebook, "Well, we thought we'd have to take more time to find the right fit, but when it's right it's right! We're pleased to announce that fiddler, Adam Haynes is the newest Grascal! We are so happy to have Adam in the band and look forward to all of you being able to hear him play.

Leftover Salmon Welcomes New Member Alwyn Robinson, Release “Two Highways”
